Bonding of silicon carbide (SiC) based ceramic to other materials, such as metals, is of high importance for many advanced appliions in fusion reactors, hot gas path turbine and rocket components, and chemical reactors. In this work, we demonstrate that the improvement of bond strength between SiC ceramic and metals is feasible by the employment of micro-column arrays (MCA).
